What is Speech Therapy?

NDIS speech therapy refers to the specialised services provided under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to individuals with communication, speech, language, and swallowing difficulties. This form of therapy aims to enhance communication skills and improve overall quality of life.

Under the NDIS, speech therapy services are delivered by qualified speech-language pathologists (SLPs), who conduct thorough assessments to identify areas of challenge and develop individualised treatment plans. These plans often include a range of interventions such as exercises, activities, and strategies aimed at improving speech production, language comprehension and expression, articulation, voice quality, fluency, and swallowing function.
